The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS) recently finalized Stage 2 of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Meaningful Use Incentive program. This program, which offers financial incentives to eligible healthcare providers for the adoption and use of an EHR, has 3 different stages of requirements that outline successful participation.

Wednesday, October 3, is the last day in 2012 eligible professionals may start the consecutive 90-day reporting period required by the Electronic Health Records (EHR) “Meaningful Use” incentive program of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)—and be eligible to receive an incentive payment for calendar year 2012. The 2012 full Medicare incentive of $44,000 provided under this program will be reduced to a maximum of $39,000 in 2013.
